Digital Divide: a photographic reminder

The digital divide: oft spoken, rarely envisaged? This is a very rich set of photos which serves as a reminder that OTB of necessity has links to lifestyles, resources and incomes around the world. It is extracted from a book called Hungry Planet: What The World Eats by Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluisio. The photos are worth exploring for everything in them, not just the food: family size, backgrounds etc etc.

  1. yes and it would be interesting to see the comparative energy needs/consumption (devices, water, electricity, cars etc), if photos could tell this story too.
I’m always a bit surprised in the supermarkets in Sydney as I watch the evolution of the “double trolley”. Not only does it take up loads of limited space, but peering through the contents, they see to be on the rise for family households, not so much the large groups or community organisations their availability once serviced.
